About Ga

I am a woman from Ecuador, currently living between Barcelona and Berlin. My practice as a consultant in communication and cultural management is nourished by creativity, and my professional experiences in the private and independent sectors blend with cultural, artistic, and social change initiatives. I believe in the power of community-based work and affective encounters as essentials to create better states of humanity.

My work includes designing communication strategies, content development, creative conceptualization, project management, and event production. In the midst of my journey, I write because I understand this world better by creating stories and engaging in conversations.

Currently, I provide consultancy services for music initiatives like EXIB Música, an expo that celebrates the mobility of Ibero-American music rooted in tradition and new trends, in Setúbal, Portugal. Additionally, I am involved in creating projects around Sonidas, a platform and digital community for women, trans women, and non-binary professionals in the music sector of Ecuador, which I co-founded in 2020 and has shown significant growth in the last year. I am seeking collaborations in Europe to create learning, capacity-building, and growth opportunities for Ecuadorian women+ in music.

I hold a master's degree in cultural and arts management from the University of Bologna, Italy, where my thesis discussed the importance of developing a brand identity and narrative for cultural organizations. Furthermore, I have bachelor's degrees from the University San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador, in Multimedia Journalism and International Relations.

I have worked at the cause-oriented advertising agency La Incre as the Content Director and Writer for organizations such as UNICEF, UN Women, Plan International, Surkuna, and Grupo Promérica. I also served as the Editorial Director of digital media platforms Radio COCOA, 220V Música, and beLife.ec. In addition, I have collaborated as a freelance journalist for magazines such as Soho, Ecuador Terra Incógnita, Diners, Noisey, and the digital media outlet GK.

With Fauna, I have co-produced events and communication campaigns related to music and the arts since 2015, including two editions of the music and performing arts festival Tercera Llamada. I have contributed to both communication and management for music events in Ecuador, such as El Carpazo, QuitoFest, and QF Cuenca.

Currently, I am part of the Ibero-American Music Journalists Network - REDPEM.IB, and I was one of the coordinators of the book on Ibero-American music titled Cantoras Todas: The 21st Century Generation (2020). In that publication, I wrote an article about the work of Ecuadorian cantora Mariela Condo. In an upcoming book from this same series, Somos Cumbia (Universidad de Guadalajara Ed.), I cover the legacy of the prodigious and mysterious character Polibio Mayorga, an Ecuadorian pioneer of Cumbia music.
